Help build technology that matters, at Van Stratum.
We specialize in temporary power solutions, from generators and transformers to distribution boards, lighting, cabling, and everything that comes with them. Much of our equipment is developed and built in our own workshop.
Customers rely on us when everything needs to work without compromise, such as during outages, large-scale events, or critical installations. In those situations, they need equipment that does exactly what it needs to do, without unnecessary complexity.
What does your workday look like?
As an Electrical Engineer / Project Planner, you are the link between concept, design, and execution. You develop electrical schematics from the initial idea through to the final design, including specifications and technical calculations. You prepare wiring work, repairs, and modifications to control systems, order materials, create work instructions, and ensure everything is ready for the workshop.
During execution, you support the wiring work and verify that everything is carried out according to plan. You program generator control systems, set parameters for transformer protection, and check the complete installation before it is deployed. You work with a high level of independence and responsibility, ensuring that solutions not only work on paper, but also work in practice.
In addition to the electrical scope, you take on smaller mechanical drafting tasks when needed, update mechanical drawings, and support internal production and assembly. You also stay on top of the administrative side: you update machine documentation, create datasheets and manuals, and ensure all commissioning and inspection documents are complete and in order.
In short: you plan, design, program, and make sure everything is right before it leaves the workshop.

Building high-quality engineering together
At Van Stratum, we work with a small, close-knit team. As a family business, we have grown since 1953 from radios and public address systems into a reliable partner in temporary power solutions. What has remained is our passion for technology, our practical approach, and the belief that good work speaks for itself.
We know each other well and keep hierarchy to a minimum. Everyone speaks openly, which means we understand what’s going on with our colleagues. We don’t think in silos—we take responsibility together. This gives everyone the space to approach their work in their own way and grow in what they do best.
We build solutions our customers can rely on. And we take pride in that. That pride starts with people who have a passion for technology—people who take their craft seriously, aim to deliver quality, and are motivated by making a difference together.
